Welcome to Center Brunswick Fire Company

The Volunteer Fire Company of Center Brunswick is one of five fire departments serving the Town of Brunswick.  The Town of Brunswick is located in upstate NY, Rensselaer County.  Our fire district is comprised of rural character with a heavily traveled state highway.

It is our mission to provide a comprehensive emergency service designed to enhance our community through fire prevention, public education, and emergency response.  The members of the fire company are dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment.



Four Graduate from NYS OFPC Fire Fighter 1

On Saturday June 27th four  firefighters graduated from the Firefighter 1 class held in Averill Park. The four graduating were B.Miller, C.Miller, M.Wasiczko,  A.Duffey.  The class consisted of 91 total training hours.   A thank you to all the instructors and companies that helped with the class.  Congratulations to all!


 
   
   
Three Graduate as Emergency Medical Technicians
After the EMT class held in Eagle Mills, three firefighters recieved their EMT cards.  Congratulations to John Singleton, Daniel Bruns Jr. and Mike Drinkwine for their hard work.  Special thanks to Eagle Mills for hosting the class and to all the instructors for a job well done!


 
Second Alarm Structure Fire
On June 9th at 0039 hrs the fire company was dispatched for a  structure fire on NY Route 7.  Upon arrival of C-3 a two story wood frame structure had a heavy fire condition,  C-3 called in the second alarm. 7-7, 7-6, R-7, C-1, C-2 were also on scene. The fire company was assisted by numerous departments that responded to help extinguish the blaze.

Truck Accident
On April 28, 2009 Center Brunswick was dispatched for a "bravo" traffic accident involving a single axle truck.  A truck had gone off the road and rolled over on NY Rt 7.  It was a long morning as the tow operators removed the vehicle from a swampy area. C1,C3, and R-7 operated until 630am.


 
   
   
Motor Vehicle Accident
On April 23rd at approximately 0730 hrs. the fire company was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Liberty Rd. with possible entrapment.  All occupants were out of the vehicle upon arrival of C-3.  R-7 C-3 Car-2 Mohawk Ambulance  and Hoosic Valley Ambulance were all on scene.


 
   
   
Valley Falls Mill Fire

The old James Thompson Company Mill along Route 67 caught fire on April the 22nd.  At 0530 hrs. the fire company was dispatched to stand by at the Schaghticoke Fire Department with 2 Engine-Tankers.  Numerous fire companies responded to extinguish the blaze which lasted for many hours.  A job well done by all.


 
HURST Drill
On March 30th the fire company held a drill with our new HURST equipment. 


 
   
   
Car Accident
On March 14th the fire company was dispatched for a two car accident at the intersection of Rt 7 and Sweetmilk Creek Rd.  One injury, patient transported by Mohawk Ambulance.  C-3, R-7 and ETA 7-7 were on scene.


 
   
   
Ice Water Rescue Class
The Volunteer Fire Company of Center Brunswick hosted a New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Ice/Cold Water Rescue Class.  It included sixteen hours of classroom and hands on training. 


 
   
   
Monday, February 16, 2009

Drill on Monday 2-16-2009 was a combination drill with Eagle Mills Fire Co.  hosted by CBFC.  We were able to use a structure slated for demolition that was acquired by the Town of Brunswick.  Search and rescue, overhaul, ladders, and ventilation tactics were addressed.  This type of training is always welcomed by the fire companies.  A big thank you to the Town of Brunswick for working with us on this training opportunity.


 
   
   
On Monday 2-16-2009 the Fire Company was dispatched for a possible vehicle fire on Sweetmilk Creek Road.  C-1 arrived to find a fully involved vehicle near a garage.  7-7, 7-6, C-2, C-3 were on scene for extinguishment. Call ended at 0825.


 
   
   
Chimney Fire
 On January 25th the fire company was dispatched for a working chimney fire.  Car-1, Car-2, Car-3 and ETA 7-7 were on scene. Raymertown and Pittstown were also on scene.   Call ended 2130 hrs.


 
   
   
The drill for 02-10-2009 was an ice rescue drill using our ice rescue suits and rescue sled.  R-7 and 7-7 were stationed at Tambul Lane.


 
   
   
2nd Alarm Mutual Aid Fire
On January 13th the fire company was dispatched to a second alarm structure fire mutual aid with Pittstown Fire department.  Cars 1,3 and 7-6 were on scene to help with extinguishment and overhaul.
